St John's actively supports the work of the Canterbury & District Food Bank by providing a food donation bin in St John's Centre.

The Food Bank was originally set up by a group of local churches in 2013 and .  The charity provides 3-day food parcels to local individuals and families in crisis across Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay and surrounding villages.
